Is it Time For Your Life Makever? Be Your Own Personal Life Coach

Are you happy with your life right now? Do you feel it is time for a life makeover?

Pam Garlick of BellaOnline has this to say:

"I don't know what finally triggered it, but recently I realized it is time for me to have a total life make over. Well, perhaps not total; but at least 75%. There are some things that are best just left alone…….I have struggled with weight since I was a child. Along with that I've had some self-esteem issues. I never seemed to fit in.   As I grew older I tried very hard to find my place in the world. Often too hard. Disappointment was not met with good results. Determination grew into desperation..I was a teen mother and a high school drop out.

I even showed signs of agoraphobia, though I don't think anyone put a name on it back then. Certainly not the psychologist who stole. . . I mean send us frequent bills, until I dumped his prescribed anti-depressants down the commode, because they made me even more depressed…..
I went from one bad relationship to another. And somewhere along the line I realized it wasn't all the men that made it bad. I was a major contributing factor to my failed relationships and marriages. …"

" I believe my life make-over actually started years ago. It may have started the day I looked at my first grandchild and knew I wanted to be someone she'd be proud of. I wanted to be a positive person in her life, and to do that, I had to be content with who I was….."

What made the change?

I believe it was the realization that there was a purpose to live for, a reason to be proud of herself.

There was the chance to change for the better, to achieve dreams, to overcome.

" I believe you came into the world to accomplish something, and that the something  you came to accomplish is not small or insignificant. That's not worthy of you. you came here to make a major contribution to life on this planet. " - Paul Solomon.

The important first step is the realization- of the possiblity, the purpose.

Then the desire.

Then the action naturally follows.

Be your own personal life coach.

Think of your life, your mission, vision, purpose.

Think of your primary goals.

And your secondary goals.

Just brainstorm.

What would you like to be?

Can you envision yourself in your new image, new role?

Think of these categories:

Your ideal relationships

Your ideal job

Your ideal lifestyle

Your ideal finances

Your ideal body image

Your physical health

Then think of why you want to achieve what you want.

Write down all the reasons why you want to achieve them.

For example, when you want a job, is it for money, for fulfillment, for meeting people, or for status, for being validated, for friends that you can meet, opportunities for learning that you can have, or travel opportunities ? the more reasons the better. This will strengthen the goals and vision you have set for youself.

How far are you away from your goals?

Realistically, from where you are now, how long would it take you to get there and what changes are needed to be made before your goals are reached?

Prioritise your goals, in order of importance.

Take the top 5 goals and do the following, starting with the first goal.

  •     Clearly identify what you need to change
  •     Use critical thinking to identify how the change is to take place
  •     Creatively think of other solutions  to solve the problem
  •     Think of the next steps you need to take
  •     Schedule your change and take action.

Thinking and knowing and planning what you want is half the battle done.

Everything else will move into place, after this step.

Complete the first goal, evaluate and reward yourself when this is done.

This will start the lifemakeover process.

It is an exciting journey.

Stick with it and see the results.
