Journalling for Self Growth and Reflection

Journalling for and reflection is not merely a record of happenings.

It is therapeutic. It is healing. It is self discovery.

It is not for meant for publishing certainly not aiming to be the next best seller.

It is private. It is meant only for your eyes.

Journaling reflectively of happenings clarify and state what truly has meaning to you, as seen through your eyes.

Journalling your reflections is a record of your thoughts and feelings, identifiable only to you. You are  getting in touch with yourself

While we cannot ignore the negative and must admit there should be outlets to let go of and dump all your psychological trash, doing it excessively can cause more harm than good.

Focusing on your all the reasons to be unhappy and negative thoughts will just attract  more misery.  Law of attraction, remember?  What you think of in greater proportion, you attract. Remember The Secret. ( shhh…. not secret anymore. It is common knowledge. But check it out if you haven't — some have watched it over and over again …)

Instead, start by thinking of journal as a joyful and peaceful place for you to spend each day. It is a place where you can share private thoughts of delight that you can immortalize and read with amusement later on in your later years. It is a record of your milestones of thoughts, dreams, aspirations, discoveries. Journal what feels comfortable to you. What is real and what you can discover about yourself.

Focus on this:

    1) What have you to be grateful for today? The fact that you are alive, that you have all that you are having and enjoying… Gratitude opens up windows of joy and frees the soul to appreciate and experience more.

    2) What's going right at this moment? How are you going to treasure it, or keep it going right?

    3) What makes you happy? How can you best respond to it?

    4) What are your dreams? How can you  make it real?

    5) What are your affirmations? What other affirmations can you think of that you want to aspire to be?

Dig deep within yourself. Ask – What is so wonderful and how can I make it better? What are the riches I have at my disposal and how can I tap on this?

Journalling does not have to be perfect grammar or completely coherent.

It can have entries of just a few phrases or words describing how you feel.

It can be a scrap book, or a pictures of what you notice, while you reflect on it.

Count the blessings while you journal.

If you feel tense or unhappy, take a note of why and how you can journal away the unhappiness. Remember, the purpose is to get rid of the unhappiness, and not let it fester any bigger than it is…

It may take days, months or years, but sooner or later, you will get to discover yourself, what you love and achieve new level of self discovery and joy. You will have discovered gems lying within your soul waiting to come out and shine. You would have unlocked the key and unleashed the power within.

If you want to discover your potential, unleash your joy, know yourself and be totally transformed and amazed at the results, keep a journal.
