Clarity is power. Clarity in knowing yourself is more power.

Our unconscious actions often speak louder than words, and can be a blind spot. If you analyse your actions, you may find that pleasing others comes is more important than pleasing oneself. For what ever reason- gaining acceptance, living up to an image, or simply thinking the other person's opinion is more important than your own opinion. This often leads to unspoken frustration- that nagging feeling that something is not right, not complete, not fully done. Over time, it can accumulate and lead to anger and depression.

Other people are important, but your needs are too. You are special. You need to allow yourself some space.  You could be considerate of others and at the same time you could be just yourself in order to maintain personal balance and sanity.

Your self image and how you think of yourself is the determinant of your success, behavior and outcome in life. It is the blueprint upon which you will behave. All your actions feelings, behavior, and abilities will be consistent with this self image.  You will act like the sort of person you conceive yourself to be. Maxwell Matz in his book Psychocybernetics, even goes as far as to mention that you  literally cannot behave contrary to your self image, in spite of your conscious efforts or power.

Having a high self-esteem is essential to happiness, success and fulfillment. Having self esteem simply means to appreciate yourself, to regard yourself as worthy and important, purposeful, accepted and confident.

How you esteem yourself is reflected in your self image and it is your conception of your beliefs about yourself. How you see yourself therefore will influence your thoughts actions, feelings and behavior and ultimately your abilities and the results you produce in your life.

If your self-esteem is not high, you will tend to carry an image of yourself as a defeated person, a person of little worth and regard, an object a victim of injustice and defeat. On the contrary, when you have high self-esteem, you will have a positive self-image and carry a picture of optimism, positivity and purpose.

You are unique. There will never be someone else like you.
Don't compare.
Don't undermine your worth
Because you are different, that is why you are special.

Often, people focus on what they wish they were not or what they wish they could be rather than who they really are.

Charles Mergendahl in 'The next best thing'

You will not have the confidence to go ahead and pursue a vision, create a plan, or be internally driven.
