True and lasting Happiness- real happiness - is elusive to many. The pursuit of happiness is the aim of all who live and breathe on this earth, but many find it only to be fleeting, superficial, short lived. James Allen in his book "The Path to Prosperity" describes this best. In the pursuit of true prosperity, true riches, this is at the heart of it all….
" The heart that has reached utter self-forgetfulness in its love for others has not only become possessed of the highest happiness but has entered into immortality, for it has realized the Divine.
" Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence" Aristotle
The pursuit of happiness is yours for the taking. It is achievable, by being happy where you are right now, and not waiting for the right time, the right place, the right person. It is to be pursued now. A lot of people cannot be happy- because they do not know how. There are road blocks like low self esteem, and ghosts from the past that haunt them. Self limiting thoughts, beliefs, and erroneous messages tell them that they do not deserve to be happy. Guilt and messages from past prevail.
The reverse is true. A person who only seeks happiness and short term gratification without consideration for others, will only find that it eludes them.
Here's an inspirational poem to remind us to take time. For the things that matter. Often, we rush through life, and forget to fill our gas tanks. To stop, liven, wonder, think, play, live, and love.

"Betrayed.!" "Wronged. I'll never forgive him! How can he do this to me? It's unforgivable!!" "After all he's done…All the pain, humiliation, hurt .."

We slog and plod. We live, breathe, work, sleep, eat and play. We live lives that are revolved around our routines. We are creatures of habit. We live automatically. Are we growing, renewing being renewed? Sharpening the saw, renewal, self renewal, revival, restoration, revitalization.. name it what you will. There must be latency before growth, dullness before vision, reaching within before reaching without. It is the prerequisite to flashes of inspirations, ideas and changes, motivation, persistence and ultimately reaching your dreams.
"All human systems require continuous renewal. They rigidify the get stiff in the joints.
Self centeredness is inherent. It is natural. It is survival. If you don't look after yourself, who will? It is after all, a game of survival. Survival of the fittest. We must look after ourselves, and earn our keep.
Yet there is a maxim that states when you scatter, you receive.
If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly, and pray the Lord your soul to keep. If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss, and call you back for just one more.
If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would tape each word and action, and play them back throughout my days If I knew it would be the last time, I would spare an extra minute or two, To stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming you know I do.
Don't let anybody steal your dreams. There is a voice within us that knows we have something special and unique to give to the world. But in this world there will be dream stealers, dream snatchers ant dream killers that will squash your dream, extinguish and snuff it out of existence. And they tell you out of the good intention of their hearts. They will tell you it is not possible. You will get burnt. Don't even try.
"Throughout my life, my friends and folks have offered me advice.
And though they meant the best for me, it often wasn't nice
They'd always say my plans were just more crazy schemes
And very time I listened, I let them steal my dreams
Somebody said that it couldn't be done, But he, with a chuckle replied That "maybe it couldn't", but he would be one Who wouldn't say so till he tried.
You were born to be great, to accomplish something of worth for which you came into the world for. It has been said that life is nothing more than a search – a continuous search for a cause to live and die for, to be governed by the thought and dreams and propelled by a concealed urge to achieve. It is unconscious, it is automatic. It is that nagging feeling tugs at you when you are alone, that there is something more. That there is something missing…
